Shinkansen, also known as bullet trains (because they’re fast like bullets), is a network of high-speed railway lines in Japan.

The first line was opened in 1964, and ever since it has been connecting Tokyo and Osaka – a distance of more than 515 km – representing the busiest line in Japan when it comes to high-speed trains. The maximum speed that these trains can reach is about 320 km/h.
