Holography is a portmanteau of the Greek words holos– meaning whole, complete– and graphos– I writeor I draw.

It represents a method of creating and reproducing three-dimensional images on a photographic plate using a light source – laser. As the photographic plate records both
the light source intensity pattern and the directions and phases, holography does has made it possible to preserve the full three-dimensional structure of the object being recorded
