            "content_html": "<h1>To what extent and which modern technologies are used in event planning in the SEE region? What is the experience in their application and what are event planners going to use in the future \u2013 these are some of the questions we put<br />\nbefore event planners in this issue.</h1>\n<p>In general, most event planners in the region (90%) said they used modern technologies, above all mobile apps designed for specific events and live streaming from events (nearly 80% of the polled used such technologies). Half of the respondents, or more precisely 44.4%, used the Tweet wall (i.e., projecting social media posts at the event) and 360\u00b0 video.</p>\n<div class=\"td_text_columns_two_cols\">\n<p>A third used drone aerial filming, digitizing papernotes\u00a0or drawings, and E-books. <em><strong><a href=\"https://getcatchbox.com/\">Catchbox</a></strong></em> (a microphone that is thrown in the audience or to people who want to ask something), 3D mapping, and electronic tickets with QR code had been used by about 10% of the respondents. Event planners have the most positive experience with using those technologies that they use the most, which includes mobile apps for events and live streaming via social media or a live-streaming link.             "content_html": "<h1>Convention center is a backbone of meetings industry of each country and city.\u00a0Especially when we talk about visibility on world meetings market, big international\u00a0congresses, associations, long time leads, full hotels occupancy and others.\u00a0All of this simply isn\u2019t discussible without proper convention center.</h1>\n<p>Many countries and cities are doing\u00a0rebuilding and building of the\u00a0convention\u00a0centers as one of the\u00a0measure\u00a0of economic growth or\u00a0recovery. About\u00a0convention centres openings in 2016 you can read at\u00a0<a href=\"https://www.seebtm.com/convention-centres-openings-2016/?lang=en\">https://www.seebtm.com/convention-centres-openings-2016/?lang=en</a>.</p>\n<p>That fact gives us insight of great\u00a0importance and impact of convention\u00a0center, not just in meetings\u00a0and events industry and area of\u00a0business\u00a0tourism, but significant\u00a0economic returns to the whole\u00a0destination, too.</p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take a look what destinations\u00a0worldwide are doing with their convention\u00a0centres last couple of years.</p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Are they crazy or wise?</strong></span></p>\n<p>If we talk about quantity, Spain\u00a0and UK have even <strong>13 convention\u00a0centres\u00a0</strong>each, while Germany has\u00a0also\u00a0significant number &#8211; <strong>8 convention\u00a0centres</strong>.<br />\nConsidering Austria\u00a0as a not so big country and the fact\u00a0that there can be chosen among 7\u00a0congress centres to plan an event, is\u00a0quite impressive. This made\u00a0this centre Europe\u2019s largest fully\u00a0integrated hotel and meetings\u00a0venue under one roof. The whole\u00a0complex covers an area of 180,000\u00a0sqm with capacity for 9,500\u00a0people. One of the ways in which many event organizers manage to cut costs while maintaining standards is by using the concept of sharing economy.</h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Simply put, the sharing economy is an ecosystem made up of: people, production, values and exchange systems, distribution, the planet, power, shared right, communication, culture, and the future.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>People are</strong> actually what makes the essence of the sharing economy. They are individuals, as well as companies, organizations, and associations with an established system of sharing \u2013 they both contribute and benefit from sharing.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When it comes to <strong>production,</strong> people, organizations, and communities are producers of certain products or services that can spread around the world through technology.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Value and exchange system </strong>are not only in financial gain, but instead there are different forms of exchange, encouragement, and creating value. Opposite to that, rural environments are being abandoned.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tourism has great impact on these problems and has to be able to meet the challenges of the \u201cnew age\u201d.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Goal of the conference on<strong> sustainable tourism </strong>is to find ways to protect natural and cultural landmarks. Also, great deal of attention is paid to the development of new solutions and capabilities to reduce the negative effects of tourism. For strategies and goals to become sustainable, entire society has to become more involved in these projects.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of the main topics covered are: ecological problems, climate changes, ecotourism, destination management, eTourism. The conference is organized by renowned British Wessex Institute of Technology.\nSo far, the conference was held in Segovia (2004), Bologna (2006), Malta (2008), New Forest (2010), La Coruna (2012) and Opatija (2014).\nTourism ceased to be the privilege of a few long time ago, and it took a very important place in the development of economy, knowledge, education and human welfare and lifestyle. Nowadays tourism significantly contributes to the new forms of economic development. Our knowledge of the world now includes a strong component due to tourism, since it introduces different cultures, customs and impressions we take from a journey.\nNevertheless, it led to certain problems regarding ecological changes and social costs. Many destinations oriented their entire economies towards tourism, so they could increase their incomes. That resulted with negative impact on the destination, its culture and identity.\n\nNatural ecosystems became true rarity. Scientists more and more talk about \u201csocial ecosystems\u201d, and that is rather challenging for tourism and ecology. Ecology is deeply influenced by technology and development of society. Cities are rapidly changing which leads to the industry development. Opposite to that, rural environments are being abandoned.\nTourism has great impact on these problems and has to be able to meet the challenges of the \u201cnew age\u201d.\nGoal of the conference on sustainable tourism is to find ways to protect natural and cultural landmarks. Also, great deal of attention is paid to the development of new solutions and capabilities to reduce the negative effects of tourism. The answers to these questions as well as suggestions and ideas for some\u00a0new programs and activities are given by #eventprofs from the region of South East\u00a0Europe during a survey organized by SEEbtm magazine during mid 2015.[/quote_box_center]</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Judging by the answers to questions\u00a0asked during the survey, there is a\u00a0considerable demand (65% in total)\u00a0for local customs and culture, or to\u00a0be more precise \u2013 for the desire to\u00a0taste\u00a0\u201cthe local\u201d.</p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Almost half of the participants in the\u00a0survey, <strong>40 % of them, said that they\u00a0often seek authentic local experiences\u00a0and cultural component.</strong></h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Such demands are often expressed\u00a0by guests, colleagues, business partners\u00a0and delegations from other\u00a0countries.<br />\nAlso, they are mostly expressed\u00a0by MICE groups. 25% of participants\u00a0said that they occasionally\u00a0have such demands.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The situation being often black and\u00a0white,\u00a0so were the opinions which\u00a0were\u00a0often opposing. Around 20% of\u00a0the participants said that they organize\u00a0activities which are then carried out with local agencies </strong>that organize\u00a0tours, sightseeing trips, team\u00a0building activities and the like.<br />\nThe least of the questionees, 8% to\u00a0be more precise, said that they organize\u00a0these activities only when they\u00a0travel for pleasure and when they organize\u00a0the trip on their own.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Activities planned in advance are, for\u00a0example, team building activities,\u00a0such\u00a0as: baking home made cookies,\u00a0barbecues, \u201ccourses\u201d on rakija (home\u00a0made\u00a0brandy), the process of its preparation\u00a0and tasting, quizzes\u00a0\u201cHow\u00a0much do you know about a certain\u00a0destination\u201d\u00a0with symbolic prizes\u00a0\u2013\u00a0symbols of the country, memory\u00a0games\u00a0with memory cards with certain\u00a0symbols printed on them.\u00a0UNESCO heritage sites are also<br />\npart\u00a0of the demand.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now we come to the most interesting\u00a0part. The answers to these questions as well as suggestions and ideas for some\u00a0new programs and activities are given by #eventprofs from the region of South East\u00a0Europe during a survey organized by SEEbtm magazine during mid 2015.[/quote_box_center]\nJudging by the answers to questions\u00a0asked during the survey, there is a\u00a0considerable demand (65% in total)\u00a0for local customs and culture, or to\u00a0be more precise \u2013 for the desire to\u00a0taste\u00a0\u201cthe local\u201d.\nAlmost half of the participants in the\u00a0survey, 40 % of them, said that they\u00a0often seek authentic local experiences\u00a0and cultural component.\nSuch demands are often expressed\u00a0by guests, colleagues, business partners\u00a0and delegations from other\u00a0countries.\nAlso, they are mostly expressed\u00a0by MICE groups. 25% of participants\u00a0said that they occasionally\u00a0have such demands.\nThe situation being often black and\u00a0white,\u00a0so were the opinions which\u00a0were\u00a0often opposing. Interestingly\u00a0enough,\u00a0as distinct from the 40% of\u00a0the participants who have this type\u00a0of demands,\u00a0there is an almost equal\u00a0percentage\u00a0(35%) of those who\u00a0hardly ever make this type of demands.\nWhen travelling as tourists, the participants\u00a0emphasize the desire to experience\u00a0local and cultural offer and\u00a0\u201cget to know the place\u201d this way.\u00a0When travelling for business purposes\u00a0they are usually prevented by tight\u00a0schedules from focusing on local\u00a0activities.\nThe majority of participants pointed\u00a0out that they do not plan local and\u00a0cultural activities and experiences in\u00a0advance, since they mostly prepare\u00a0them according to the needs and affinities\u00a0of the clients, and depending\u00a0on the situation.\n\nOn the other hand, 35% of the participants\u00a0stated that they, in advance\u00a0planed the activities such as tours,\u00a0sightseeing trips, dining at local restaurants\u00a0and so on. Around 20% of\u00a0the participants said that they organize\u00a0activities which are then carried out with local agencies that organize\u00a0tours, sightseeing trips, team\u00a0building activities and the like.\nThe least of the questionees, 8% to\u00a0be more precise, said that they organize\u00a0these activities only when they\u00a0travel for pleasure and when they organize\u00a0the trip on their own.\nActivities planned in advance are, for\u00a0example, team building activities,\u00a0such\u00a0as: baking home made cookies,\u00a0barbecues, \u201ccourses\u201d on rakija (home\u00a0made\u00a0brandy), the process of its preparation\u00a0and tasting, quizzes\u00a0\u201cHow\u00a0much do you know about a certain\u00a0destination\u201d\u00a0with symbolic prizes\u00a0\u2013\u00a0symbols of the country, memory\u00a0games\u00a0with memory cards with certain\u00a0symbols printed on them.\u00a0UNESCO heritage sites are also\npart\u00a0of the demand.\nNow we come to the most interesting\u00a0part. The survey was participated by companies and organizations in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the most efficient event formats, workshops and trainings are number one, with 45% and 25% respectively. They believe <strong>a happy worker is a better worker, more efficient and loyal, and more successful in dealing with daily tasks and overcoming any problems or obstacles at work.</strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><br />\n</strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A small percent (5%) thinks work and pleasure do not go together</strong> and that only extremely loyal co-workers with a strong character, who are very rare, manage to do so. The remaining <strong>11% feels mixing work and pleasure is the result of sheer necessity</strong> brought on by the fact that the amount of time and effort needed to do one\u2019s work, results in having to mix professional and private life even though the two don\u2019t go together. Awareness that others appreciate their work and effort, positive feedback and praise from partners / guests / satisfied clients.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>POSITIVE WORK RESULTS.</strong> Successful completion of a project, visible results of invested effort, successful meetings.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TEAM SPIRIT</strong>. Team work and team functionality, a management nurturing dialogue with the middle management and other workers.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TRAINING AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT</strong>. Successful completion of a project, visible results of invested effort, successful meetings.\nTEAM SPIRIT. Team work and team functionality, a management nurturing dialogue with the middle management and other workers.\nTRAINING AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT. The chance for professional training and education, assuming responsibility and authority, room for independent action and possibility to implement knowledge in actual projects.\nEVENTS. Celebrations with co-workers, trips / excursions, out-of-city / country gatherings, attendance at various events.\nSECURITY. Job security, regular agreed salary, close-knit work team, working conditions and functionality.\nCREATIVITY.
