The Old Mill was established in 1901 and was called Steam Automatic Mill of the Association of Stockholders for Food Processing in the Kingdom of Serbia. The Old Mill was one of the largest and most developed mills in Serbia during the period between the two world wars. The first shareholders’ mill was bombed in 1914 and during the occupation, the Austrians used the mill\u2019s machines to light up the Sava Bridge.

In 1945, the mill was nationalized and remained so until 1995 when it was taken over by a private company.\nThe building of the Old Mill was a characteristic edifice of industrial architecture subjected to its function.
