According to historical\u00a0records, Budva was known\u00a0more\u00a0than 2,500 year ago as <strong>\u201ca city\u00a0of Illyria\u201d.</strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Legend says that Budva was founded\u00a0by Cadmus, son of king Agenor and\u00a0queen\u00a0Telephassa and conqueror and\u00a0ruler\u00a0of Boeotia, a province in Greece.\u00a0When he was banished from\u00a0the city\u00a0of Thebes with his wife Harmonia,\u00a0he\u00a0found refuge with the Illyrian\u00a0tribe of\u00a0Enchelei. According to legend,\u00a0Cadmus\u00a0came to Budva on an oxcart.<br />\nThat is where Budva got its name,\u00a0since\u00a0bous means ox in Greek.
